LBMS GAME RESULTS VS. BELTON MIDDLE

Lake splits with Belton Middle School 1-27-25 In a closely contested game, the Lake 8th grade red basketball team came up short against Belton Middle School, losing 28-22 on Monday night. Offensively, Makalyn Harrison and Carson Kukulski led the team in scoring with 4 points each, followed closely by Jakobe Sisson and Charlie Valish, who contributed 3 points apiece. Caleb Eckert, Michael Brooks-Davis, Carlos Sanchez, and Roman Zaragoza each chipped in 2 points to round out the scoring. On the defensive end, Cooper Smith, Roman Zaragoza, Nidon Shin, and Michael Brooks-Davis played pivotal roles, disrupting Belton’s offensive rhythm with their intensity and smart positioning. Their efforts kept the game within reach and showcased the team’s commitment to defense. The 8th grade silver team came out on fire, going on a 12-0 run in the 1st quarter and ending the half up 24 -2. Belton Middle would put up five points in the third quarter. The lead was too great for the Tigers. At the end of the third the score was Lake 33 and Belton 7. The Tiger would out score the Broncos in the fourth, but it was not enough. Final score Lake 39 Belton 14. Leading the Scoring for the Broncos: Jaiden Gomez 13, Braxton Bronson 10, Tiger Maxwell 6, Kayden Bridges 4, Bronx Lattier, Athan Reyna and Treyvon Lightbourne each had 2 The teams will be back in action at the District Tournament on Saturday, February 1, at Waco Midway High School. The team and game time are yet to be determined, but fans are encouraged to come out and support the squads as they fight for a postseason victory.
