Last night the LBMS girls opened their basketball season against Copperas Cove JH. All four teams came away with a win. In the 7th grade A game, Lake took control in the first half taking a 10 point lead 17-7. The Broncos built on that lead in the second half winning 33-16. Torrie Monroe-Peterson lead the team in scoring with 8 points followed by Caitlin Stringer with 6 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were Armonieya Kosar with 5 points, Sophie Quigley with 4 points, Lie'Ayshia Andrews and Mariah Miller both had 3 points a piece and Tessa Williams and Frances Sexton with 2 points each. In the 7th grade B game, Lake took an early lead and never looked back winning 18-4. Callie Jacobs lead the team in scoring with 8 points followed by Kylie Baker with 6 points. Ella Wardell and Emily Martell rounded out the scoring with 2 points a piece. The Lake Belton Girl's Basketball 8B team kicked off their season with an impressive victory against the Copperas Cove Bullpups. The Broncos dominated the game, securing a decisive win with a score of 25-2. Riley Evans led the team as the high scorer, with 6 points. Additionally, Keira Dzenowski was recognized as the "Hustler of the Game" for her relentless energy and effort throughout the game. This strong start sets a promising tone for the Broncos' season, highlighting their teamwork and determination. Great job, Broncos! The 8A girls basketball team dominated their game against Copperas Cove Middle School, securing an impressive 31-7 victory. All players contributed to the team's success, with standout performances from Alexis Walker, who led the offense with 15 points, and Presley Pilkington, adding 7 points to the scoreboard. Great teamwork and effort from everyone on the court! The Broncos will be back in action after the Thanksgiving break with their home opener agains Midway on December 4th.
