LBMS 8TH GRADE FOOTBALL RESULTS
Lake 8th Red Falls to River Valley, 8-0, Ending Their Season
In a hard-fought battle, the Lake 8th Grade Red team concluded their season with a tough 8-0 loss to River Valley. Despite the outcome, the Lake Red team displayed resilience and moments of brilliance on both sides of the ball. The offense was led by the dynamic efforts of Roman Zaragoza and Jose Puente, who tried to break through a tough River Valley defense. Carter Thompson added a spark with a spectacular catch and run, showcasing his athleticism and determination to gain crucial yardage. On defense, linebackers Nick Villarreal and Jordan Bevill anchored the team with solid tackling and awareness, keeping River Valley’s offense in check. Westin Marshall added to the defensive effort with an impressive interception, while Nick Villarreal and Johann Melendez contributed with key fumble recovery, both providing opportunities for Lake Red to swing the game back in their favor. Though the season ends here for Lake 8th Red, their tenacity and teamwork this season have set a solid foundation for the future.

Lake Belton Broncos Show Resilience in Season Finale Despite 27-0 Loss to River Valley
The Lake Belton Broncos closed out their season Tuesday night with a 27-0 loss to River Valley, bringing a season full of challenges to an end. Despite the shutout, the Broncos demonstrated undeniable grit and perseverance, playing with heart until the final whistle.
Injuries took a toll on the roster, leaving Lake Belton without several key players. Yet, the team showed up ready to battle, driven by a commitment to give everything they had on the field. Nowhere was this determination more evident than on the offensive line, where the Broncos’ blockers fought relentlessly, creating opportunities and protecting the backfield. Though River Valley’s defense held strong, the Broncos’ line refused to back down, pushing against the opposition with resilience.
The Lake Belton defense also showed spirit, managing key stops and stalling River Valley’s offense multiple times. Even though the final score didn’t go in their favor, the Broncos left the field with heads held high, knowing they played with everything they had.
Though the season may not have ended as they’d hoped, the Broncos’ tenacity on the field signals a strong foundation and a spirit that promises to carry them forward into the offseason.
