LBMS 7TH GRADE FOOTBALL RESULTS VS LAMAR

Lake Belton Falls to Lamar Bearkats 13-0 In a hard-fought battle, the Lake Belton football team couldn’t find the end zone, falling 13-0 to the Lamar Bearkats. Despite the loss, the game showcased impressive individual performances, particularly from the offensive line and quarterback Conner Krueger. Krueger displayed his athleticism, running all over the field, but the Bearkats’ defense held firm, preventing him from scoring. The offensive line, led by Max Cacique, Aaron Gerhard, Flynn Tulloch, Rex Carpenter, and Bentley Ayer, set the tone early in the game, creating opportunities for Krueger to break through. However, Lamar’s defense proved too tough in key moments. On the defensive side, Lake Belton was anchored by hard-hitting linebacker Landry Dupree, who made several key tackles to keep the game within reach. Safeties Mason Brown and Kaden Carter also played pivotal roles, providing strong coverage and making critical stops. Lake Belton will look to rebound in their next game on Tuesday, October 15th, when they face Belton Middle School at Tiger Field. Despite flashes of brilliance from quarterback Wyatt Bullard and wide receiver Blain Johnson, the Broncos were unable to overcome the relentless pressure of the Bearkats' defense. Wyatt Bullard had several impressive runs, keeping the defense on edge with his hard running. His ability to extend plays and break into the open field gave the Broncos some hope throughout the game. However, the Bearkats' defense tightened at critical moments, limiting Lake Belton's opportunities in the red zone. On the receiving end, Blain Johnson showcased his athleticism and hands with multiple highlight-worthy catches. He fought hard for yards after the catch and managed to outmaneuver defenders on several occasions. Johnson’s chemistry with QB Harrison Fryar was one of the bright spots in the Broncos' offense, as they connected for crucial first downs and kept drives alive. However, turnovers and missed opportunities plagued the Broncos throughout the game. The Lamar Bearkats capitalized on key mistakes, including two turnovers that resulted in touchdowns, widening the gap and putting Lake Belton on the back foot. The Bearkats' balanced offensive attack, led by a disciplined ground game and precise passing, steadily wore down the Broncos' defense. Despite a solid effort by the Broncos’ defensive unit, Lamar managed to find the end zone three times, putting the game out of reach. Lake Belton's lone score came early in the 1st quarter, a result of a methodical drive that ended with a short touchdown pass from Harrison Fryar. However, by that point, the Bearkats' lead was insurmountable. In the end, it was a night of "what-ifs" for Lake Belton. As they look ahead to their next matchup, the Broncos will need to clean up their mistakes and to get back into the win column. Players of the Game: Wyatt Bullard and Blain Johnson
