LBMS VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS MIDWAY
The Broncos opened up the season on the road at Midway on Thursday night. All four teams came away victorious.
The Bronco 7A volleyball team won their first game of the season against the Midway Pantherettes. The Broncos came out nervous and excited, but pumped up and ready to play. The first set started fast behind good team play and serving. Midway picked up their serve game and the score went back and forth. The Broncos would win 25-22. The second set was back and forth but with great team effort and focus, we pulled off the win 26-24. Congratulations and way to rise up! Players of the game were Ava Cavazos and Addison Bossen.
The 7th grade Lady Broncos B volleyball team faced off against the Midway Pantherettes, delivering a solid team performance. The Lady Broncos dominated the first set with a score of 25-10, thanks to strong serving and contributions from several players. They maintained their focus in the second set, securing a 25-19 win to complete the match. The Players of the game goes to Tessa Williams and Kinley Pitts.
The 8th grade B team went back and forth through the first half of the first set before finally taking control winning 25-16. The second set started very similar, but some lack of communication on the court lead to some costly errors that gave Midway the lead that they would keep to win the set 25-17. The Broncos were determined not to drop the third and final set and won the match by taking the set 15-12. Jordyn Landry did a great job on the front and back row with several great digs. Emily Harris lead the team in service points with 8.
In the final match of the night, the 8th grade A team started off the first set down 6 points through the first full rotation. Jordynn Morris came up to serve with the score 17-21 in favor of Midway and she would serve 7 straight points to put the Broncos ahead 24-21. Midway would fight back and tie the game, but Lake would end up winning 26-24. In the second set, Lake and Midway would keep it close the entire set, but Lake again came up on top winning another close one 25-22. Morris lead the team with service points with 10, while the entire team did a good job fighting for each point in the season opener.
