Lake Wins 3 out of 4 Against South

LAKE WINS 3 OUT OF 4 AGAINST SOUTH

In the last regular season games of the year, the Broncos were able to come away with 3 wins against the Tigers. The 7A game started off a little slow with the Broncos taking a 2 point lead 6-4. Then Lake came alive in the second quarter scoring 17 points to South's 6 going into the half with a 23-10 lead. In the third quarter, both teams had a hard time finding a basket with only 2 points total being scored in the quarter. The Broncos would come away victorious winning the game 29-14. Lexi Walker would lead the team in scoring with 8 points followed close behind by Elizah O'Bannon with 7. Aiyana Rountree would add 4 points to the total and Carly Frosch would chip in 3. Elsa Hayes, Brynlie Wurts, and Charli Williams all had 2 points each in the contest. The 7B Broncos closeout district play against South Belton with a hard-fought win. We were a little off, but our consistent hard work and hustle helped us overcome the adversity to gain the 15-11 victory! It took a team effort and each player on the court was reliable defensively. Offensively, our top scorer was Samiyah Lemus with 5 points. Taytum Hobson, Keira Dzenowski, Neveah Smith, Isabella Neels and Jadyn Martin each had 2 points. Bring on the district tournament! Lake Belton Middle School and South Belton Middle School 8A girls basketball played an intense and closely contested basketball game. It's evident that the girls put in a tremendous effort, with the lead shifting back and forth throughout the game. Although, the final score was 40-39 in favor of South Belton, it's clear that Lake Belton Middle School 8A Girls gave it their all and played with determination until the very end. Such experiences can be valuable for the team's growth and development as they continue their basketball in the future. Ayaana Omisola's contribution of 20 points highlights her skill and impact on the game, while Catalina Esquivel's defensive efforts, despite limited playing time, underscore the importance of teamwork and contributions from every player. All four teams qualified for the district tournament this Saturday
