The Lake Belton Broncos 7th grade silver and red team traveled to Lake Belton High School to take on the North Belton Middle School Broncos. Lake would split games with North. In the silver teams’ game, Lake would get off to a great start by applying defensive pressure against North which would lead to Lake securing the win, it was all Gas-No Breaks for Lake Belton Broncos as they jumped out to a commanding 11 to 6 lead in the first quarter of play. The second quarter would be much of the same as the first half would end with Lake up 23 to 10. Lake finished the third quarter 32 to 12; in the fourth and final quarter the Broncos held on to their lead and finished with a big win over the North Belton Broncos. Final score: Lake 42 – North 16. Defensively the team played extremely well to help the Lake Broncos secure the win. Leading the scoring for the Broncos: Tiger Maxwell: 11 pts Jaiden Gomez: 8 pts. Tristan Cannady: 7pts. Red Team Results: The game was hard fought in the first half of play, but the Bronco’s defense turned some timely turnovers into some easy baskets. The first quarter score was Lake 6 and North 9. In the second quarter Lake would turn up the heat defensively and go on a 14 to 2 lead which gave Lake the Lead going into the half. Lake 20 and North 11. The second half of play the page was flipped as North would come out on fire scoring 18 points to Lakes 5 points in the third period. It was much of the same in the fourth period as North would take a commanding lead go on a 14 to 4 run in the final period of play.
