LBMS 7th grade Boy sweep the BMS Tigers

LBMS 7TH GRADE BOY SWEEP THE BMS TIGERS

Wednesday night at Lake Belton High School, The Lake Belton Bronco 7th grade Boys team played host to the Belton Middle School Tigers. There was a good crowd on hand to watch the Broncos as both teams remain undefeated at this point. In the Silver teams’ game, the Broncos would get off to a slow start with an 8 to 2 lead in the first quarter of action. The Broncos played solid defense, only giving two points in the first quarter. The second quarter found the Broncos being out scored 9 to 8 and would end the first half with a five point lead the score Lake 16 and Belton 11. The start of the third quarter was tough scoring for both teams. Lake would manage to score two buckets and hold the Tigers scoreless in the third making the score Lake 20 and Belton 11. In the fourth and final quarters the Broncos maintained their lead with a scoring frenzy by Braxton Bronson who had 8 of the final 10 points scored. Final score: Lake 30 Belton 18. Defensively the entire team played well including Carson Kukulski, Kyson Fish, Grandon Taylor, Athan Reyna, Erick Harness, and Jacob Sullivan. Leading the scoring for the Broncos: Braxton Bronson 12 Points. Tiger Maxwell and Jaiden Gomez with 6 points. Tristian Cannady 4 points. and Kayden Bridges with 2 points. The Red team opened the game on an 11 to 2 start. The scorers in the quarter were Briggs Robin, 5 points and Jakobe Sisson with 4 points. The first quarter was Broncos 11 and Tigers 2. Picking up the defense starting in the second quarter was Michael Brooks-Davis, Javi Guerra, and Briggs Robin. Davis had 4 rebounds and a block shot. Guerra and Robin each had 2 rebounds and 1 steal. The offense was led by Carter Johnson, 5 points and Michael Brooks-Davis with 4 points. The halftime score was Broncos 24 and Tigers 4. In the third fourth quarters, the Broncos emptied the bench and played several different line ups. Caleb Eckert, Charlie Valish, James Kelley, and Alfonso Thompson played good defense and they added to the lead with Kelley and Cooper Smith, each scoring 2 points in the quarter. At the end of the third, the score was Lake 28 and Tigers 6. The fourth quarter saw Briggs Robin get four steals and two assists and he scored 5 points. Caleb Eckert, Heston Seideman, James Kelley, and Cooper Smith were outstanding on defense, holding the Tigers to 4 points. While the Broncos were running out the clock, Alfonso Thompson had a steal and layup to round out the scoring for the Broncos. The final was Broncos 35 and Tigers 10. The leading scorers were Briggs Robin with 10 points. Jakobe Sisson 6 points Carter Johnson 5 points, Michael Brooks-Davis 4, Caleb Eckert, Cooper Smith, Javi Guerra, Alfonso Thompson, and James Kelley each had 2 points. Lake Belton’s next game will be at home, LAKE BELTON HIGH SCHOOL, against Cove Middle School. The game is Thursday 12/14/23 Game Times: 7A @ 6:00pm and 7B @ 7:00pm.
