LBMS GIRLS GO 2-2 VS. BMS
Last night, the Broncos came away with two wins against the Tigers.
In 7th grade action, the A team again dominated the game from beginning to end. The Broncos came out hot in the first quarter outscoring the Tigers 19-2. They continued to build on their lead in the second quarter to go into the half up 29-4. The Broncos didn't slow down in the second half and ended the game winning 48-8. Elizah O'Banon had a great night on offense leading the team in scoring with 15 points. Lexi Walker scored 10 points followed by Elsa Hayes with 6. Presley Pilkington knocked down 5 points while Carley Frosch and Charli Willimas both had 4 each. Rounding out the scoring was Brynlie Wurts and Areanna Long with 2 points a piece. The entire team did a great job defensively keeping the Tigers in single digits for the game. 7A remains undefeated on the season at 3-0.
The 7B girls basketball team added another game to their win column against Belton Middle School 18-11. We experienced a little bit more pressure this game than the last 2, but the girls rose up to get ahead in the second half. Proud to see more aggression out of our girls to get loose balls and rebounds. Our top defensive player was Samiyah Lemus causing numerous turnovers. Our top scorer was Savannah Long with 6 points.
The Lake Belton Middle School Broncos saw much improvement in play against their crosstown battle with the Belton Middle School Tigers. The first quarter was back in forth with good defense from both teams. Unfortunately for the Broncos the shots were not falling in the second half and the Tigers would out score the Broncos and take a big lead. In spite of good hustle and play by Courtney Anderson and Jules Wright the Broncos would fall by a score of 8-29 to the Tigers. Raija Christian, Soraya Siller, Courtney Anderson, and Jules Wright scored 2 points each.
In a gripping clash of skills and strategies, the 8th-grade girls' A team from Lake Belton Middle School Broncos and Belton Middle School Tigers faced off in a heart-stopping encounter that left fans on the edge of their seats. The scoreboard read 36-32 in favor of the Tigers, but the story on the court was much more than just numbers. The smaller, faster Broncos squad brought intensity and speed against the bigger, aggressive Tigers, creating a matchup that will be remembered for its sheer excitement. Ayaana Omisola emerged as the offensive player of the game for the Broncos, leaving defenders in her wake as she notched an impressive 14 points. The defensive player of the game goes to Coby Dodd showcased unwavering determination, hindering the Tigers' advances, and ensuring that every point was earned with sweat and effort.
The Broncos will be back in action this weekend in the Georgetown Holiday Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
