LBMS Girls Grab Three Victories from the Bulldogs

LBMS GIRLS GRAB THREE VICTORIES FROM THE BULLDOGS

The LBMS girls took on Bonham last night and came away with 3 wins. The Bronco 7B girls basketball came out yet again full of fire and hustle last night to beat Bonham 20-4. I'm proud of our discipline to try to slow down when handling the ball to set up and attempt to run our offense. Our top scorers were Isabella Neels and Jordyn Landry with 6 points a piece. Neveah Smith and Sophia Rotramel did very well on defense for us as well. The 7th grade A team dominated every quarter and won 37-5.  Charli Williams led the team in scoring with 8 points.  Carley Frosch and Presley Pilkington had 6 points a piece followed by Elsa Hayes, Elizah O'Banon, and Aiyana Roundtree with 4 points each.  Lexi Walker and Areanna Long both had 2 points and played some great defense.  The A teams has only given up 9 points in their first two games of the year and move to 2-0 in district play. In the dimly lit gymnasium, the echoes of sneakers squeaking on the polished hardwood floor and the rhythmic bounce of a basketball reverberated. The air was thick with anticipation as the Lake 8th grade B Bronco basketball team prepared to face the Bonham Bulldogs.  However, despite the Broncos best efforts, the final score did not favor our team. The scoreboard displayed the stark reality of a loss, and the disappointment was etched on the faces of the players. Losing a middle school basketball game can be a tough pill to swallow. It's not just about the numbers on the scoreboard but the emotions that accompany the defeat.  Bella Smith-Bisceglia was high point for Lake with 4 points. 8A started slow against an aggressive Bonham Middle School. At the end of the first half our girls putting up just 10 points to Bonham 18 points. In the second half, Lake fought back to top Bonham 30-29. Offensive player is Alayna Fulton with 12 points and the defensive player goes to Evelyn Bragewitz. The Broncos will be back in action next Wednesday against Belton Middle School.
