Lake Belton 8th Grade Silver Dominates Lamar in 47-0 Shutout Victory The Lake Belton Middle School 8th grade Bronco Silver squad hit the road on Wednesday night and put on a clinic, handing the Lamar Middle School Bearcats a decisive 47-0 defeat. From the opening drive through the final whistle, the Broncos controlled all three phases of the game to secure a shutout victory. Dominant First-Half Surge Lamar opened the game by receiving the kickoff, but the Bronco defense immediately set the tone. Lake Belton forced a crucial 4th-down stop deep in Lamar territory, handing their offense prime field position right out of the gate. The Broncos capitalized on the opportunity, driving into the end zone with 3:05 remaining in the first quarter to take an early 7-0 lead. The defensive intensity only surged from there. After forcing another quick stop, the Broncos scored on the very first play of their next drive, stretching the advantage to 15-0. Lake Belton kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter: 3:43 left in the half: The offense punched in another touchdown to extend the lead to 23-0. As time expired: The Broncos capped off an explosive first half with a touchdown pass as the clock ran out, heading into the locker room ahead 31-0. Big Plays and Lockdown Defense in the Second Half Hoping to spark a comeback, Lamar opened the second half with an onside kick. However, the Broncos were ready for the trick play and securely recovered the ball. On the ensuing drive, Lake Belton dialed up a trick of their own—a stunning 55-yard touchdown run on a reverse that widened the margin to 39-0. The Broncos put the finishing touches on their victory with 6:02 left in the fourth quarter when their quarterback sprinted in on a keeper, pushing the tally to 47-0. Standout Performers The shutout victory was a total team effort, highlighted by big individual performances on both sides of the ball: Offensive Player of the Game: Bowen Williams, who helped power the high-scoring attack across all four quarters. Defensive Player of the Game: Josiah Resendez, who anchored a stingy defensive unit that denied Lamar a single point. Up Next The Lake Belton Broncos will look to build on their momentum when they return home for their next matchup. They are set to host Bonham Middle School on Tuesday, October 20th, with kickoff scheduled for 6:15 PM.
