LBMS 8TH GRADE GAME RESULTS VS. S.C. LEE
Lake Belton 8 Red fell to SC Lee Red, 32–0, in a hard-fought contest at Bronco Stadium.
Lake received the opening kickoff and put together a promising drive, but the possession ended in a turnover. Lee Red quickly capitalized, connecting on a deep pass for a touchdown to take an early lead.
On Lake’s second possession, the Broncos were forced to punt, and Lee Red returned the punt for another touchdown. At the end of the first quarter, Lee Red led 14–0.
Lake showed some offensive sparks in the second quarter. A couple of strong runs by David Young, along with a pass to Kellen Maybin, moved the Broncos into the red zone. However, a penalty and a bad snap stalled the drive, and Lake was unable to convert on fourth down. Lee Red then took advantage of the opportunity, driving the ball down the field for another touchdown.
Lee Red led 20–0 at halftime.
Lee received the kickoff to begin the third quarter and wasted little time finding the end zone again. Lake’s defense continued to battle, keeping the game competitive through much of the second half. The teams exchanged possessions until late in the fourth quarter, when Lee Red added one final touchdown to close out the scoring at 32–0.
The Lake Red defense was led by Michael Navarro, who recorded several tackles, including three tackles for loss and a quarterback sack. Nick Casmus also made an impact with a quarterback sack and three tackles.
Although the Broncos were unable to get on the scoreboard, Lake 8 Red continued to compete and showed flashes of progress on both sides of the ball.
