LBMS 8TH GRADE GAME RESULTS VS S.C. LEE
8th Grade Broncos Silver Team Pulls Away Late to Defeat S.C. Lee, 27-13
The Lake Belton 8th Grade Silver Broncos protected their home turf on Tuesday night, battling back in the second half to secure a 27-13 victory over the S.C. Lee Bulldawgs.
Lake Belton set the tone early after receiving the opening kickoff. The Bronco offense methodically marched down the field, capping off their opening drive with a touchdown and a successful two-point conversion to take an 8-0 lead with 4:10 remaining in the first quarter. Following a quick stop by the defense, Lake Belton pushed deep into S.C. Lee territory again, extending their cushion to 11-0 on a field goal with just 44 seconds left in the opening frame.
The second quarter brought a quick turn of momentum. While the Bronco defense snagged a big interception, Lake Belton coughed up a fumble on the subsequent drive. S.C. Lee capitalized on the mistake, piecing together a long scoring drive to trim the Broncos' lead to 11-6 going into the halftime break.
S.C. Lee carried that momentum straight into the third quarter. After the Broncos attempted an ambitious opening-half onside kick, the Bulldawgs recovered and returned it all the way to Lake Belton's 7-yard line. S.C. Lee punched it in on the very next play, snatching a 13-11 lead.
With their back against the wall, Lake Belton responded like a championship-caliber squad. The Bronco offense put together a sustained drive, breaking through for a rushing touchdown with 5:02 left in the fourth quarter to regain a 19-13 advantage.
On the next series, the Bronco defense delivered the game’s decisive moment, coming up with a clutch 4th-down stop to hand the offense elite field position. Lake Belton wasted no time putting the game out of reach, breaking off another rushing touchdown to seal the 27-13 victory with 3:15 remaining on the clock.
Standout Performances
Offense: Felix Gomez anchored the attack with clutch playmaking throughout the night.
Defense: Jayce Tobar led a relentless defensive effort, making crucial stops when the team needed them most.
