The Lake Belton Middle School volleyball teams came out hot in their season opener against Lamar Middle School. All four teams came aways with 2 set victories. The 7A opened their season with an exciting home opener against the Lamar Bearcats, earning a strong victory in straight sets, 25-11 and 25-13. Caroline Marshall led the way from the service line, serving an impressive 14 points, while Maddie Brent was a commanding leader on the court and helped guide the Broncos to the win. The 7B team proved to be too much for the Bearcats to handle from the serving line and won in 2 sets, 25-9 and 25-11. Sylvia Grimm led the way for the Broncos in service points with 14. The 8B team also got on a roll in first set from the service line with Lucy Mahoney serving up 13 and another 5 in the second set to lead the team to a 2 set victory 25-9 and 25-6. Lake's defense held down the Bearcats by not allowing them to get into double digits in either set. The 8A team also proved to be too much for Lamar from the service line with Charlie Stawski scoring 16 service points in the 2 set victory. The Broncos dominated both sets 25-12 and 25-11. All four teams will travel to Midway next Thursday to take on the Pantherettes.
