LBMS 8TH GRADE GAME RESULTS VS. SOUTH BELTON
The Lake Belton 8th Grade Bronco Red team earned a hard-fought victory on Wednesday, December 10th, defeating the South Belton Tigers 40–29 in a game defined by early defensive pressure and a dominant third-quarter surge.
Both teams opened the night with tight defense, keeping the score close throughout the first quarter. The Broncos settled into their rhythm late in the period, posting 9 points and taking a narrow 2-point lead. South Belton responded in the second quarter, heating up offensively and scoring 9 points of their own to snag a 1-point advantage heading into halftime.
Lake Belton’s defense turned the tide in the third quarter. The Broncos forced several key turnovers, converting them into fast-break opportunities that fueled a massive 17-point frame. Their intensity created a 12-point cushion entering the final quarter, a lead they’d protect the rest of the way.
When the final buzzer sounded, the Broncos sealed a 40–29 win.

Defensive Standouts
Grayson Williams, Jaden Onchweri, Gage Wieters, and Mason Brown made their presence felt on the defensive end, helping shift momentum with hustle plays and pressure that disrupted the Tigers’ offense.
The Lake Belton 8th Grade Bronco Silver team traveled to South Belton Middle School on Wednesday, December 10th, and delivered an impressive all-around performance in a dominant 66–26 victory over the Tigers.
The game opened with a competitive first quarter as both teams found offensive success. The Broncos edged ahead early, scoring 14 points while holding the Tigers to 11. Momentum shifted strongly in the second quarter as Lake Belton’s defense took control, allowing just two points and pushing the Broncos to a 25–13 halftime lead.
South Belton showed renewed energy in the third quarter, scoring 12 points, but the Broncos answered with an 18-point effort of their own to maintain an 18-point advantage heading into the final period. Lake Belton saved their best for last, putting on an offensive and defensive clinic in the fourth quarter. The Broncos poured in 23 points while limiting the Tigers to just one, sealing the commanding 66–26 final score.
Jeremiah Larkin led all scorers with 21 points, showcasing a strong performance on both ends of the floor. Lawson Phillips added 15 points, while Aden Donaldson and Wyatt Bullard each chipped in eight. Daiidrion Glover scored seven points, Muna Ihekoronye contributed five, and Preston Bragg rounded out the scoring with two points.
Defensively, the Broncos were equally impressive. Larkin, Glover, Phillips, and Bragg stood out with their relentless effort, helping shut down the Tigers’ offense throughout the game.
With the win, the Broncos continue their winning streak and will look to keep the momentum going as they return home to face the Belton Middle School Tigers on Thursday, December 18th.
