The 7th B Lake Belton Broncos came in second place this past weekend in the Georgetown Holiday Hoop Tournament. The Lady Broncos finished the tournament with a 2-1 record. In game one, Lake defeated Forbes Middle School 16-14. In the semi-final game, Lake beat Copperas Cove 12-5 to move into the Championship game against Hill Country. The players of the tournament go to Kelci Stephenson and Kendall Truett. The 7th A team also came away this weekend with a second place finish. The A-team won game one against Forbes 18-16. Sydney Harvey lead the team in scoring with 8 points. In the second game, Lake dominated Tippit not allowing a single point winning 26-0. Laynie Wurt lead the team in scoring with 8 points followed by Zariah Garcia, Emma Goodnight, and Sydney Harvey with 4 points a piece. Anna-Lena Bowers and Stella Beronio played well on the defensive side. In the Championship game, Lake lost to a good team from Hill Country Middle School 10-24. Zariah Garcia and Charlie Stawski lead the team with 3 points each.
