The 7th grade B team Lake Belton Broncos won their first game of the season against the S.C. Lee Cove Cougars by the score of 22-11. They showed an outstanding defensive effort holding the cougars to under 10 points until the last minute of the game. The players of the game go to Adeline Wyrick with 6 points and Kelci Stephenson with 4 points. The 7A team lost a close game 22-27. Laynie Wurts lead the team in scoring with 7 points followed by Sydney Harvey with 6. Rounding the scoring for the Broncos were Willa Nanney with 3 points and Emery Seideman, Hayden Fryar, and Zariah Garcia. The season opener was a good test for the Broncos. We played the S. C. Lee Cougars in a back and forth game, but fell short in the end. The Cougars won 20-15. Imani Fisher had 4 points, Ella Wardell had 3 points followed by Reagan Lopez, Zamia Rodriguez, Aaliyah Rodriguez, and Lucy Arevelo, all with 2 points each. The Broncos did a good job for their first game together and are looking forward to improving this season. 8th Grade A had a thrilling start to the season with a close game against S.C. Lee, final score 14-15. Our team displayed incredible determination. Torrie Peterson shined as the Offensive Player of the Game with 8 points, while Mariah Miller stood as the Defensive Player.
