LBMS 8TH GRADE GAME RESULTS VS. BELTON MIDDLE SCHOOL

Lake 8th Red fell to Belton Middle School, 24–6. The offense was led by quarterback Jase Ptaszek, who connected with a solid receiving unit of Darrian Glover, Conner Krueger, and Mason Brown. Running backs Daniel Denham and Jaden Fish also contributed to moving the ball effectively. Defensively, it was a total team effort led by Kaden Carter, Levi Flores, Russell Norvella, Bentley Ayers and Jacob Chin, who played with toughness and determination throughout the game. The Broncos will look to bounce back in their next matchup on Tuesday, October 21, against Bonham at Bonham Middle School. The 8th grade Lake Belton Broncos Silver Team took on the Belton Middle School Tigers in a tough contest that ultimately saw the Tigers come out on top, 25-8. The Tigers struck early, capitalizing on a strong opening drive to take a 6-0 lead. After the Broncos came up short on 4th down during their first possession, Belton took advantage of the favorable field position and punched in another touchdown with 3:20 remaining in the first quarter, extending their lead to 12-0. Despite the early deficit, the Broncos showed resilience. A well-executed offensive drive moved them deep into Tiger territory, but a key interception by the Belton defense halted the momentum. The Tigers responded by marching to the 7-yard line, only to be denied by a determined Bronco defense. With just 10 seconds remaining in the first half, the Tigers snagged another interception, threatening to widen the gap. But on the very next play, the Broncos flipped the script—Wyatt Bullard stepped up with a huge 85-yard interception return for a touchdown. Samuel Marzo added the extra point, trimming the Tiger lead to 12-8 at halftime. In the second half, the Broncos received the ball but were once again stopped on a critical 4th down. The Tigers leaned on their running game and powered into the end zone, pushing the lead to 18-8. A strong defensive stand by Belton led to yet another touchdown drive, sealing the game at 25-8 with just over seven minutes left in the 4th quarter. Top Performers: Wyatt Bullard delivered the highlight of the night with his electrifying pick-six, providing a major momentum shift late in the first half. Samuel Marzo continued his consistency on special teams, converting the extra point and providing stability as the Broncos’ reliable kicker all season. Despite the loss, the Broncos showed flashes of promise on both sides of the ball and will look to bounce back next week as they hit the road to take on Bonham Middle School. Kickoff is set for 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21.
