LBMS GAME RESULTS VS. RIVER VALLEY

The 8th grade Lake Red Broncos earned a strong victory over River Valley with a final score of 26–7. The offense was sparked by touchdowns from Daiidrion Glover-Gonzales, Conner Krueger, Finnigan Fowler, and Mason Brown. Quarterbacks Jett Turner and Jase Ptaszek managed the game well, while Jonathan Pedroza added an extra point with a successful kick. On defense, Kaden Carter had a standout performance with two interceptions and a fumble recovery. He was supported by Aldemar Viveros, Will Reinhard, Mateo Vela-Rios, and Bentley Ayer, who all contributed to a strong defensive effort. The 8th Grade Silver team pulled off an electrifying comeback at home on Tuesday night, defeating the River Valley Panthers 32-24 in a game packed with momentum swings, big plays, and standout performances on both sides of the ball. The Panthers came out of the gates strong, marching down the field with a series of impressive runs that led to an early touchdown and an 8-0 lead in the first quarter. The Broncos responded immediately, igniting the home crowd with a 60-yard touchdown pass to even the score at 8-8. River Valley answered right back with another long run and score, regaining the lead at 16-8. On the ensuing drive, the Broncos looked poised to respond once again, but a costly fumble — recovered by the Panthers — shifted the momentum firmly in favor of the visitors. The first quarter ended with the Panthers in control, leading 16-8. Early in the second quarter, the Panthers continued to lean on their ground game, pushing the lead to 24-8. Refusing to back down, the Broncos regrouped and mounted a strong drive through the air, resulting in a touchdown that cut the deficit to 24-16. A key defensive stand by the Broncos halted the Panthers’ next drive, and the Broncos took over deep in River Valley territory following a punt. However, the Panthers' defense held firm, keeping the score 24-16 at halftime. The second half belonged to Lake Belton. Receiving the kickoff to open the third quarter, the Broncos wasted no time. Quarterback precision and timely receptions powered a textbook drive that culminated in a touchdown, tying the game at 24-24 and swinging the momentum firmly in the Broncos' favor. Another defensive stand, this time deep in Panther territory, set up the Broncos with excellent field position. Staying aggressive through the air, the Broncos found the end zone early in the fourth quarter to take their first lead of the game, 32-24. With just 2:31 remaining, the Broncos defense sealed the win with a crucial interception, allowing Lake Belton to run out the clock and complete the comeback victory. Key offensive contributors included Harrison Fryar, Grayson Williams, Blain Johnson, and Lawson Phillips, who each played pivotal roles in the passing attack that fueled the second-half surge. Defensively, Robert Gudgen, Jaxon Winner, and Jaden Onchweri anchored a resilient unit that tightened up as the game progressed and made key stops when it mattered most. The Broncos now turn their focus to their next matchup against North Belton Middle School, scheduled for Tuesday, October 7th at Bronco Field. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM and 6:15 PM.
