LBMS FOOTBALL GAME RESULT VS. LAMAR MS
Broncos Charge Past Bearcats with Dominant 36-13 Victory
Bronco Field, Monday, September 15th — The Lake Belton Middle School Silver Team delivered an impressive all-around performance Monday night, overpowering the Lamar Bearcats with a 36-13 win at Bronco Field.
From the opening kickoff, the Broncos’ offense set the tone with an explosive first half. The scoring began with a powerful rushing touchdown, followed by two well-executed passing touchdowns, giving the Broncos an early 24-0 lead. Quarterback efficiency and a balanced attack kept the Bearcats' defense off-balance.
Lamar managed to break through late in the second quarter with a long rushing touchdown, putting the Bearcats on the board and trimming the deficit to 24-7. But with just over a minute left in the half, the Broncos answered swiftly, marching downfield with precision and capping the drive with another touchdown to extend the lead to 30-7 heading into halftime.
The Bearcats refused to fold. Leaning heavily on their ground game, they pieced together a strong scoring drive to open the second half, closing the gap to 30-13. However, the Broncos responded immediately on the ensuing kickoff, returning it all the way for a touchdown to make it 36-13 and swing momentum back in their favor.
Special teams came up big again for the Broncos, recovering the ball after a miscue by Lamar, but the offense was unable to capitalize. The third quarter slowed down as the Broncos focused on the running game to control the clock, though no additional points were added.
In the final quarter, the Broncos’ defense took over. After a first half that tested their toughness against the Bearcats' run-heavy offense, Lake Belton’s defense shut the door in the second half—stopping every Lamar possession and preserving the score.
The Broncos offense was powered by strong play from Felix Gomez, Jace Moon, Andrew Phillips, and Bowen Williams. On the defensive side, Ryan Taylor, Jayce Tobar, and Jonathan Dwyer anchored the unit, shutting down Lamar’s attack and making key stops throughout the game.
The victory brings the Broncos to a strong position as they head into their bye week. Next up, Lake Belton Silver Team will travel to Hewitt on Monday, September 29th, to face River Valley Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
